School Sprinkles: Fun School Resources for Teddy Bear Day and Beyond

Add-a-heading-5.png

Today I'm sharing with you some fun school resources. This week has been the first week for my "Resource Recommendations".

Not a huge fan of that name...

I have no idea if I will even stick with that name as I think it sounds too librarianish. I won't be sharing just books. I'd love to share games, art supplies, anything that pulls at my momma heart strings that my kids love to use in our learning journey.

I'm saying our learning journey because I don't want to dissuade you if you aren't a homeschooler. Most of these items are things any kiddo could use, either as a resource for learning, to keep busy in a restaurant, out and about touring a national park, or needing some additional learning supplementation for a particular subject. And a lot of these would make great gifts.

I'm excited to share with you this last week's recommendations. I will be sharing these daily on my Instagram stories and on the Facebook Page. But I'll do a round up here weekly so they can live here and you can reference back to them all at once. I hope that is helpful!

Learn to Draw Winnie the Pooh

In honor of Teddy Bear Day on September 9th this fun art book made our School Sprinkles List!

I shared this resource first because next week is Teddy Bear Day on September 9th. Available on Amazon, we love this book because it includes all of the beloved Winnie the Pooh characters. It also includes multiple ways to draw them. There are tons of pages and characters so this won't be a one and done kind of book.

Waxed Paper Sheets

These sheets are so simple but so versatile. Here are some of the things we use them for:

Tracing Paper over art drawing or maps

Wrapping snacks or sandwiches

Painting or coloring on for that "stained glass" look when you put on a window

fun just to color on

put paint on and then throw it away when done

Catches messes under playdoh or other projects

This is clearly not something complicated but I think you'll find if you get them that you can use them for a lot of things. We've had our box of 500 sheets for 3 years now and with 2 kids we've hardly touched the box. That's with our kids doing map challenges on them each year (counting how many maps we've traced). These are super useful.

Paddington's Guide to London

I've never been to London. But my parents brought us back this darling book the last time they visited.

It is the sweetest book and is very comprehensive with photos and maps and all kinds of bear sweetness. It is after all a bear's eye view to the city.

If you're studying Europe, England, or cute bears then this book will be a great add-on for you!

So those are my loves for this week, some fun school resources to hopefully help you celebrate Teddy Bear Day...I was going to start next week but Nick thought I should start a bit early to give you kind of a trial.

So...do you like seeing what we use? Is this helpful for you?

I'm here to inspire and help! It's what keeps me going each day. Let me know if you've enjoyed these recommendations! If you do I'm planning on doing one each SCHOOL day. So no school? No rec for ya. ;)

If you want more things we're excited about you can read all about our Homeschool Curriculum for the 2020-2021 school year.

Thanks for coming by to read this and support us...Have a great weekend :)
