Saturday Scraping and Sales, Frugal February Day 11
I love the Saturdays that wake me up with a gentle pink glow starting up over the town. Sunshine, streaming through the bay window into the dining room. It’s always telling that it’s going to be a lovely day.
Today we did a lot of scraping and patching of the walls. We are hoping to be able to start painting our schoolroom tomorrow. I almost cropped this photo but then I thought, eh, let them see the real life around here. After all, doesn’t everyone have a suitcase on their school table?
I made bread, soft pretzels for the super bowl game, and seperated chicken breasts into bags for the freezer.
Emma went to ballet to observe her class dancing and Calvin still has a terrible cold. He’s been resting in his room and we have Emma helping with wallpaper while taking it easy. I’m starting to feel as though I’m running a convelescent home.
Fun fact…I looked up how much the Blount’s Lobster Bisque we had last night would have cost if I had purchased it somewhere NOT a discount store. I almost choked when I found out that my $5 soup would have cost $90. $90! Can you even believe it? We had a very fancy meal indeed.
While I know I am trying to not spend anything, I did have a neighbor who was having an online garage sale and I purchased some things. I bought a lamp and framed photograph for Calvin’s room and I bought the kids a pack of cards as they have been LOVING card games. I spent $5. I figured even though I bought things I also bought them from a garage sale and one of the items was at least something I needed (the lamp), so it’s still frugal. I know the other two items were want items but they were so cheap. Consider it a moment of weakness I guess.
Other than that we didn’t spend any other money.

Sorry this blog is on the shorter end. I got so wrapped up in the scraping that I plum forgot to write about our day until late at night. Hope you can forgive me!
