Targeting in on Frugal February, Day 16
Today I went into Target for the first time this month. It felt somewhat foreign to go there. As much as I love a good Target run I have to admit, I looked at things differently today and some things looked a bit…cheap. Perhaps it is because of Frugal February or perhaps it is because I am now a 41 year old woman who basically has everything I need already. I am also living by the idea of quality over quantity.
I was proud of myself that, spoiler alert, I didn’t buy anything. I did go there to look around for some projects that we have starting in March, and since Frugal February ends in 12 days (not that I’m counting, lol) I thought it was an okay time to go and have a peek around for some ideas.
After Target I went to Panera where, like I mentioned, I cancelled my Sip Club Subscription but I still have it for a few more days. I got myself a cup of tea which was super yummy.
Earlier in the day I had taken and fetched the kids from their school day. It was so nice to have a bit of alone time but it is always a lot of driving. I also had to take Calvin to a doctor’s appointment to rule out anything serious as he’s been sick with a cold for over a week now. When I would have something to do during the day before, I would justify staying up near their school and having a day of shopping. Today though I went back home and some some relaxing done, some cleaning done, and some organizing done. And I didn’t spend any money then which was nice.
After picking the kids up from school I stopped at Meijer and bought some chocolate milk and salmon from Flashfood. The chocolate milk was for the kids and I had the salmon for dinner which was the best salmon I’d had! If you want my code for $5 off your first Flashfood purchase you can get my code here.
I got gas on the way to ballet this evening and that was the only purchase I made. As much as I love shopping, I do not love getting gas. So while Emma may not be able to drive with her concussion, I was able to have her pump the gas.
Tomorrow my mom is having surgery. I am going with her to the hospital so I have no idea how our day will go. Please be in prayer for her tomorrow. Emma also has a pretty big concussion appointment tomorrow to see how things are going. Big day around here.
This is a reminder to savor life. I was on my way to pick up the kids this afternoon and there was a bad accident just ahead of me. It is always such a shocking reminder of how life can change in just a blink in an eye. Please remember to be safe, to go slow, and to always take your time.
