Pardon our Absence but…we moved!
This summer was a whirlwind for us. It is still very tumultous but I am getting ahead of myself.
We have always been looking for somewhere to move out of the city we had lived in for the past 17 years because, well, for many reasons. Perhaps one day I’ll go into what I truly think of where we lived but for now I will leave it to saying that we had been looking for a place with land so we could put down roots and have some room to stretch and grow. We wanted to be out in the country. We were ready.
Fast forward to June when we found out the house next to Nick’s parents was for sale. Not on land (it does have a bigger yard!) and not in the country. But after prayer it felt truly like where we were supposed to be. Some day maybe I’ll write more about all of the background. We moved fast and made a decision to purchase this gorgeous home.
We closed August 1st and are happy to say that we are now 75% moved in.
Things are still up in the air because…our first home still has not sold. It’s been very discouraging and disheartening as we wait. We are ready to close that door of our lives and to start fresh but it’s like we have our bathrobe stuck in the door and we just can’t seem to get unstuck.
We know and trust that God has a plan and will take care of us. But until everything is taken care of, we’re not starting on any of the big projects in our new home that we would like to complete. It’s an up-in-the-air/whirly kind of time. If you think of us, please say a prayer for us! To sum it up this has been a very stressful time.
In the interim I feel that the Lord has given us this time to live in this home and feel out what we want from each room of the house. It gives us an opportunity to dig deep and question things like “is this the room we want the TV in?” “Is this really where I want my desk?” I’m trusting that God is using this pergatory time for good.
All of that being said, let me show you around!
I hope you enjoyed our home tour. We’ll be sharing more in the future, I’m sure! For now I better go so I can unpack some more boxes.
